Pre-Application Planning Advice

Pre-Application Planning Advice

I've already had some casework on planning issues. But, sadly the cases were too far advanced for me to offer any practical help.

Whenever people have approached me about planning in the past, I have always advised them to make contact with SDC and talk through their requirements in advance.

I have now learnt that SDC formally offer pre-application advice as an optional service. The service is offered before full planning permission and allows you to understand how development policies will apply, gain advice from a planning officer, identify any potential problems and rectify them before a full planning permission application is submitted.

For a householder it costs a couple of hundred pounds and in the cases I've seen in the past few weeks would have saved thousands in costs and much anguish.
