Poor PEEL assessment for the Constabulary

PEEL Assessment

Gloucestershire Constabulary's PEEL Assessment published last week seems less than good.

Table showing-Recording data about crime - Outstanding
Police powers and treating - Good
Preventing crime - Adequate
Responding to the public - Inadequate
Investigating crime - Requires improvement
Protecting vulnerable people - Requires improvement
Managing offenders - Requires improvement
Developing a positive workplace - Adequate
Leadership and force management - Requires improvement

I have concerns about the performance of Gloucestershire Constabulary in keeping people safe, reducing crime and providing victims with an effective service. In particular, I have serious concerns about how it responds to the public.

His Majestyโ€™s Inspector of Constabulary Wendy Williams
