I start a new job within security tomorrow that I am very excited about. I get to work with someone that is very close to me, I took this job for many reasons - but the number 1 being that I love catching bad guys. That should be the goal in security, there is so many other things people worry about and try to control other than the main goal of stopping threats from entering the network. We focus on marketing, new products, new tools, everything but what are the things that actually stop a breach. Most of the time it is not a fancy new AI tool, but simple network architecture or other hardening techniques that have nothing to do with the greatest new tech. Either way, I am excited to get running in this new job, and for what it will teach me and allow me to grow in throughout time.
