Updates on the Franklin Fire situation 🔥 🚒

Red Flag Update

13:03 PST from Pavilions The electricity was shut off again early this morning. It was a good day and a half with it on. Mark is on his way up from San Diego to hopefully take Madeleine back with him, where she can be comfortable and safe. Red flag warnings are in effect until Wednesday. The gas isn't expected to be back for at least a week, up to four. Again, no immediate fire threats in the area as of now. Have a good week! -- Logan ...

General Fires Update 3

20:10 PST from home The electricity is back on. The winds have died down. They are expected to return Monday. The fires currently aren't threatening our area (MAL-113-B). Gas, cable, and phone lines have yet to be restored; however, I am getting a stronger cell signal. Hopefully, this is the last update for a while. Have a good weekend.✌🏼 -- Logan ...

Freddy Fire Update 1

13:24 from Pavilions The natural gas was shut off this morning when I went to try the stove. Unfortunate. The strong winds have been consistent throughout the night and into today. A large branch fell near the front door. No damage; I lugged it into the driveway. The Palisades fire is really bad, along with the Eaton fire in Altadena. Those are far enough away, but I just noticed a new fire called the Freddy Fire which is to the north, near Leo Carrillo State Park. That has me a little bit ...

Palisades Fire Update 1

17:10 from Pavilions We're fine. No smoke in our area. Electrical services were shut off around 11 am. It's been windy and is expected to continue to be that way for the next 24 hours. Also, I almost killed Kenny G on my way to Pavilions. He was walking backwards in the middle of the street. -- Logan ...

Update 4

10:35 PST Good morning. The fire situation is pretty much the same; although, much more comfortable with the electricity back on. I don't know what's worse, the fire itself or not being able to watch Christmas at Pemberly Manor! Anyway, things are trending in the right direction. The next update will likely only be if there's a significant negative change. Thank you for your support during these trying times. ✌🏼 -- Logan ...

Update 2

10:00 PST Good morning 🌄 We're doing well. I was able to get some decent rest. The fire is 7% contained now, which is welcomed news. I'm going to take care of a few things at home first and then go find some more reliable service again. The power is still out. Hopefully, it will be restored later this evening if all goes well. You can check for fire updates here: https://www.fire.ca.gov/incidents/2024/12/9/franklin-fire The app "Watch Duty" is also popular. We are zone MAL-C113-B regardin...

Update 1

I'm currently at Pavilions (edit: heading home soon 19:19 PST) where I have Wi-Fi and electricity. I just came for a quick update to check on things and get a charge. No evacuation order yet. Staying home for now until we get that order. I've been in communication with Tom in case we need to go up that way. Creating this so I don't have to update everyone individually and you can subscribe to get updates when I push them, I think. Click on "read post" and then you can subscribe via email. ...
