Catching up with news - 01

[005] ... [Internet], [Technology]

Those who follow technology can't do without poring over a wide array of news on the Net. It's inborne in them to get to know things in detail soon as they happen and get announced.

Though most dedicated websites put them up first, dozens of others just seem to reproduce the same differently with catchy titles (often as click-baits hardly matching the content!).

RSS subscriptions, visiting the sites, forums, Newsgroups are the other means to stay updated, discuss and and get to know or even provide answers. A few services like Slashdot curate news from other sources contributed by its members in full-text.

I bumped into Readspike calling itself a Simple news aggregator sometime back and go through regularly. With links pulled from various sources and neatly stacked under each, it brings the current scenario on technology, products, gadgets, product design, programming, science etc. as a one-stop-shop. Recent headlines make it to the top, and the past ones get neatly masked as a pull-down under More that makes catching up with the not so old ones easier.

I liked way the site is structured as a terminus without having to subscribe to multiple feeds for a normal user, supporting dark mode, thumbnails for certain categories, besides sporting links to general news, political and a variety of other related on separate pages.

I marked this post as 01, to follow up with one other that I just came across and yet to explore.
