What's in a name?

[006] ... [General]

Don't know if anyone besides me has ever noticed this space. If yes, a minor change is much visible, that of the altered blog/journal name since yesterday with a hint under the bio, and this piece is to just make it clear. In fact this should have appeared yesterday soon as it was changed, but being a later thought after posting, got pushed.

Two days back I mentioned my brief sojourn with creating Interface, the monthly newsletter as a hobby, and since then I was in two minds if to change the blog name to the same than the current Terra (which by itself doesn't relate anyway to the nature of posts and was casually named). Rather than repeating the used, besides it being a dictionary term, I tried making up many coined terms to go with, but each already seemed to be thought of and taken up, either as a company name or part of a languages, or may be simply as an invented name like in my case -- people are so creative and well ahead.

At one point I decided on Interraphase, though not meaning anything, with an assumption to convey the brief period between two phases of life besides sounding similar. Somehow it didn't gel.

After giving it much thought (than it really deserves) I am putting an end and simply calling it Four-THs, supposed to convey THis, THat, THese and THose random topics aimed at. It may be pronounced the way you think fit, as Fourths or the intended Four-THees.

In a way it may also suggest 4th of this July when the #100Days got started (the date being a mere coincidence since being from a different region), and seemingly the term doesn't yet seem taken up over the Net. A mix of hyphen and uppercase in part perhaps being the savior...
