Wetter days

[027] ... [General]

It rained heavily last night, naturally since we are well into the season in this part, seeing it on and off each day, and sounds ironical to hear of summer heatwave in other continents. Rains bring in memories, the ones that lash heavily to leave a lasting impression. It's a bit worrisome, the way it's growing more each year. Some see it poetically, looking out from the warmth of their home. To Chaplin it hid his tears when getting drenched. In many countries the roads get cleared off water in twenty minutes, and in some, everything comes to a halt in a lesser time.

At one time my office was notorious to always leak at some point from the day one when the soaked false ceiling had sagged making it difficult to open the door. Despite all the careful measures during summer we kept our fingers crossed whenever it got cloudy and it never seemed to work in our favor. Somehow the problem got solved by putting an extra impervious layer, and the first dry day naturally called for celebration, from wetter to better days.

The daunting one that I faced was after coming out of the comforts of theater, having watched and enjoyed "Titanic". It was a real task to get back home in the night after a near two hours that otherwise shouldn't take half an hour; driving through inundated roads, fallen tree branches, disrupted power with no streetlights, blocked junctions that needed a detour, with pouring rain that seemed to go on eternally, literally experiencing what the the crew and inmates of the ill bound liner had faced.

There's nothing like home, specially if it's warm in winter, keeps you cool when the sun blazes, remains dry and cozy when the heavens let loose, and of course, keeps you connected with never a weak signal, rain or shine...
