Trying to prove

If ever I am put off by something, it's those CAPTCHAs on many websites, asking you to prove your existence as someone with a brain, human that is, than something artificially programmed to act like one, as to prove it wrong. No matter how many traffic lights you identify, it moves on to crosswalks, keep doing to encounter stairs, and trucks, and back on to traffic lights. You begin to doubt if you are really human and start all over including the poles and frames that support the lights. It's not satisfied yet, and you give up. On rare occasions you do succeed, only to find the page being pay walled or needing membership to access.
So much for technology where bots have become challengers to our existence. Wish there were simpler means to prove like simple arithmetical ones which some banks use (no doubt they always deal in figures). Or matching colors in a grid, or identify a known person through options and such.
