Seasonal scares

When a friend got transferred on a new posting, he first enquired on the general climate of the region since it was quite sultry early in the year. His colleague just remarked casually, "We have Summer or extreme summer". He drove the point quite well.
Now of course, there seems to be very few regions not affected by rain. So much for the climate change that many see as a curse. Where rivers don't exist, the very roads become one with knee deep water formed by overflowing storm water drains and manholes. While seasonal flavours, flowers and fruits are common in most places, some encounter seasonal scares that that doesn't promise a comfortable return back once stepped out.
Trees are great to have for the cleaner air, summer shade and the flowers they bring in the spring, but left unmaintained, the very leaves and twigs clog up drains along with silt to show the effect when it pours. A TV coverage during such seasons showed many drains clogged with all sorts of plastic, paper cups, even old sofas and broken chairs in the larger ones. So much for education, city life, neglect and the least care towards the society in general.
There's no one to blame obviously except the people or ourselves. Rather than getting used to seeing boats on the road to ferry across, or live with a nagging feel of a scary future, the simplest would be for each to correct at their end, and do their bit for the general wellbeingness during such times, however small...
