Smoked Fish with Seaweed and Black Sesame Broccoli Paste

Ingredients
Black Sesame & Broccoli Paste
- 3 Tbsp Black Sesame Paste
- 1 small head of broccoli or half a large head of broccoli, cut into florets and stalks
- 1-2 Tbsp of lemon juice
- 1-2 cloves of garlic, minced
- salt & pepper
Smoked Fish & Seaweed
- 2 strips of wakame seaweed, soaked for 10 mins, drained and pressed dry
- 2 strips dulse seaweed, soaked for 10 mins, drained and pressed dry
- Tin of smoked sprouts, sardines or oysters in oil
- 2 Tbsp of Sesame oil
- 1/2 Tbsp of fresh ground ginger
- 1 heaped Tbsp of Black Sesame & Broccoli Paste
- 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce or Coconut Aminos
- 1 or 2 Radishes, finely diced
Method
Black Sesame Broccoli Paste
- Steam the broccoli. Remove the florets when soft, continue steaming until the stalks are soft then remove as well
- Place in Bamix blending container, with garlic, salt, pepper, and lemon juice
- Blend to smooth consistency
Smoked Fish and Seaweed
- Heat Sesame oil over low-medium heat
- Add ginger and radishes and saute until soft and fragrant, maybe 5 mins
- Add seaweed and enough water to just cover, add soy sauce and Black Sesame & Broccoli Paste. Mix to coat the seaweed.
- Simmer until seaweed is soft and most of the water has gone
- Add smoked fish with oil and mix through until fish has broken down and mixed through seaweed
Notes:
- Could possibly add some fresh garlic toasted after ginger and radishes have softened
