(E) Explain
- As believers, one of the many gifts God has given is the Holy Spirit living in us, taking up residency in our inner being. This gift, again, comes from the riches of His glory … granting us this wonder. It is for the purpose of strengthening us with power. He does this our of this love for us.
(A) Apply
- The first thing that comes to mind is that we can draw from this power - the Holy Spirit in our inner being - to fight and kill sin. This ‘deposit’ of power, so to speak, is present. It is within us. We have been granted this strength to fight, to endure, to overcome, to dodge, to battle, and to kill our sin … both in the day to day and under great temptation. I must lean into this. I must remember. I must pray for HIS strength to be working in me.

- Father God, please help me to remember who you are and whose I am. Help me to press in and lean on the Holy Spirit within me to help fight my battles and overcome temptation. If it wasn’t possible, you wouldn’t have granted this blessing. Strengthen us and me. Amen
