Man In a Garden

Genesis 2:9c...In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Vrs. 16 And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17. but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die."

The first thing to notice is two trees in the middle of the garden. One is the tree of life, and the other is the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
The other point is where man was placed and who put him there. God did not put man in the wild way of the world. Instead, God put man in the garden, which God himself designed with precision. The herbs are available, the trees have seeds to produce more trees that have seeds, and of these is an endless abundance of food. The animals and the birds for the pleasures of man to observe and to give them names.
Something is interesting: man was given the freedom to eat that which was in the garden and did not mention eating from what was outside of the garden.
That thought is for another study. But suffice it to say he did not intend for man to be part of worldliness but rather in peaceful harmony found in God's garden.

The Word of God
"But you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die."

Genesis 3: 1b...He said to the woman, "Did God say, "You must not eat from any tree in the garden?"
Notice the craftiness and play on words and how twisted they are.
Satan takes God's word and twists it to fit his schemes.

Genesis 3:2b says,We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden," but God did say, "You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.'"
Notice that the woman did not quote God's word exactly as God said it; she twisted it to fit her.

Now Satan attempts to declare God is holding something and not letting the man or the woman have all the knowledge or freedom.
Genesis 3:4 "You will not certainly die," the serpent said to the women. 5. "For God knows that when you eat from it, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

Certain people have crept in.
Falsehood and false doctrines.
Crafty serpents.
