Poem: The Deepest Ponds

I always find that it's the simplest questions
that make you question the most
about what you know.
One example is explaining
hard to accept concepts for the masses
facing lungful after lungful of debate,
silenced with the easiest question.
"How can you be Polyamorous?"
The answer is something you've accepted
your whole life.
"Do you love your mother?"
"...Yes..."
"Do you love your father?"
"...Well... yes, but..."
If you can love both your mother AND your father,
or your brother AND your sister-
Well you've just told me you're able
to love two people at the same time...
... Why can't I?
