how not to become homeless

just had a talk with my boo on how not to become homeless

this is something we discuss in america every once in a while

my baby and i have each been homeless before—this is not an unreasonable fear (especially for the mentally ill)

we dont think we will be homeless again

but we discussed our budget—and available financial supports that we could use to pay our landlord in case we lose our disability—

this is the kind of thing we discuss (what happens if we lose our disability—what if we’re unable to get/work jobs)

—but (we tell ourselves) we probably wont lose our disability—but you never know (in this country (in this world (in this life))) what will be there tomorrow—even life itself is fragile—undetermined—

we dont know whats going to happen next (of course no one does)—but can i hope for future generations that housing security is part of your life
