My Luggage

I really enjoy learning about luggage! It’s kind of like a little subculture of men who love bags and share their passion on fashion-focused websites. I’m usually a quiet observer on those sites because I’m not the best at chatting online, but I find them fascinating. People there often follow big brands like Gucci, LVMH, or Hermès, choosing them based on their personal style, taste, or budget. Instead of being into cars, sneakers, or watches, I’ve found my thing in luggage. And just like other collectors, I find it interesting because it touches on design, craftsmanship, and marketing. These bags often carry signs and symbols that add meaning and style. The decorations and details can help showcase a person’s sophistication and make a statement. Luggage also makes me think of travel—airports, different modes of transport, busy social scenes, and communities of travelers.
For example, I’ve got a devotion for a certain Italian leather messenger bag with fancy logos from a well-known fashion house. Instead of spending thousands on it, I made my own version at home by following a pattern and by crocheting it using yarn and a hook. To me, having a reliable bag while going through the city is more than just practical; it’s a symbol of security and comfort.
