Morning of Support

This morning went great because I trained my brain, just like the psychologist suggested in today’s “Wake Up” video on the meditation app. “Give the brain a break,” she said.
Earlier, I’d been scrolling through flea‑market listings online—it felt like munching on a huge bag of potato chips. The browsing never stopped, and the caffeine plus the pre‑dawn darkness drove me straight into tunnel vision.
So, this morning, I decided to refocus on gratitude for the Higher Power and ask Him for help. The devotional reading really nailed that. The author asked, “What would the Lord do in response to my actions?” That reminded me that my activities need to matter in a good way before His eyes.
A candle lit before dawn helped me stay centered and grounded, its lifelike flame dancing in my peripheral vision. I also cut back on caffeine and started drinking more water.
One of the best parts of waking up at 4 a.m. was catching a radio show hosted by a faithful woman whose voice was both sonorous and uplifting.
Before heading out for a mile‑long walk around the neighborhood, I spent twenty minutes chatting with my housemate. Then it was time to hit the park and get moving.
