AD21//Day 16 out of 21

Rivers drained dry to induce a synthetic drought
Blight made of corpses released to their fertile grounds
Sculptures of magnificent virgins vandalized
To prove a point, to prove dominance
Hundreds of cattle enslaved and soon, humans
Justifiying blood spilled in the name of someone else's vengeance
Many of those who seek pleasure from death's hand
Enter the surge without victory planned

The guilt-stained palms smell like a normal day
Ashes and sawdust and decay
Scents like these linger even after a new dawn is born
Has the color of peace always been this gray?

Long since the wallets of our countrymen have been stolen from
Today they rise up by a million
Claiming the spoils, taking even those the rich deserve
Singing the screams of evolution,
Uniting under the signs of red and black written words
The world is for everyone to conquer
Unless, that is, if someone in the 'Everyone' defects
The banners will be wielded for a future

Words have become reason, reasons depend on words
The hatred unable to disperse
Through guns and fistfights
Turn into guillotines made of psychology
Turned into perfectly tied nooses
Prepared for the wrong ideologies

Though these hands no longer stink of gunpowder
These fingers are still not liberated from sin
They bleed in a different color
From this righteous desire to correct everything
Though these hands are not swamped with papers
These fingers unswayed by the works of ink
They become the world's hired grim reapers
When anything may be translated to anything

People of the queue, before there existed influence
Lied the throes of a rigorous revolution
Before burning churches and sieging the gates
There were the nightmares from imaginations
Now that the heroes of the have been judged for their sins
Only the victims of the murdered's relatives remain
And these good luck charms tied to their swords to be safe from the war
Are more valued than the swords and the lives of the slayer and the slain
