Spinning Up | We 1/4

Woke up for a stand-up that was pushed back but whatever. I'm tired, but I can only blame myself for ending late yesterday. I also trapped myself into responsibility by telling the team that I would schedule time with somebody to solve my ticket. In response Nicole asked to be invited to that meeting, so I actually have to schedule one. Thankfully just now she was okay with working together.
She gave me the idea to use chat GPT to ask questions, which is very clever. I'm glad to have something to show others in case I need to ask someone else for help.
While Nicole looked for a solution, I read a short manga chapter about an otaku and idol, which described how I feel. The otaku said that not everyone wants to be lovey dovey with idols even though that's a big selling point, which I feel with girl friends. I guess I'm happy to be courteous and supportive, but without any ulterior motivation.
I'm also watching a video on Dostoevsky wherein the creator interjects with his opinion when talking about Myshkin, saying that girls don't like when men are too courteous. It's just one person's opinion, but I feel some truth in it.
I napped for a while during work like usual. Afterwards Gigi wanted to go to North Park to exchange some shoes, but I had to eat dinner and clean my car from the oatmeal so I want able to.
Gigi and I had a nice chat on the way to volleyball. It turned out we both napped today, but I jogged her memory when I talked about earplugs and she dreamed about trying some on, which was funny.
There were a lot of people who RSVP'd to volleyball tonight, but thankfully we got a second court for free. I'm so happy that the group has a lot of variation in skill level since it let me (and I think most of the others) play with people around their level, which I think makes for the most fun games. Of course everyone was very friendly too.
One girl Kaylie gave me advice about covering a teammate's hit a bit further back since I can move forward more easily than backwards. She also recommended I approach to hit from outside the court for a similar reason. Oliver was there too and helped me try to focus on contacting the ball in front of me, having a faster swing (thumb at the ear on the way up), approaching later and with more walking steps to be proactive, hitting the ball on my way up instead of down, jumping later, and using the torque from my hips and shoulders to swing instead of just my arm.
The day was amazing: learning a lot, hanging out with lots of friends, getting challenged, and playing for a while. Changing how I approach and hit wasn't fruitful, but I can't expect it to be this early. I did also botch some serves by contacting them badly, but my serve reception and passes were better than usual, which has me hopeful that I'm improving.
The Kyrie's were also much better for traction, although the right is a hair narrow, but I think I'll ride out the break-in time since I have 60 days to return them according to Nike and I'm sure solid deals for other shoes will always be around.
