Doing something right

I must be doing something right ! There has definitely been an uptick on all of the channels that are promoting my music. I am using SoundCloud, Bandcamp and Subvert.Fm as the main ways for people to find my music, audio only, and YouTube, MakerTube for audio/video. There has been a sizeable increase in the number of plays and follows/subscriptions. Alongside this my social media profiles are also gaining in activity.

But I’m also really happy that my music is getting played on a more diverse range of radio/online platforms and being added to playlists.

It is very rewarding for any creative individual to have their work recognised and enjoyed by others. It has always been my approach to try to be distinctive in what I do, Intend towards the experimental and avant-garde, I am naturally averse to staying with the crowd. So the work that I produce does not have a natural fit for mainstream listening.

I never quite know where I am heading, improvisation and constantly trying new things takes me to unexpected places. My next live performance is scheduled in a few weeks time where I will be using Live Coding with Tidal Cycles for the first time with an audience. Right now I am simply trying to make sure that the technology and hardware isn’t going to let me down, and when it does that I will be able to resolve things quickly.

Keep it simple is the mantra that I so frequently here and aspire to, but somehow things always get complicated :-)
