Severed

In 2 months, the line will be severed.

Handing in my notice has been 4 years in the making. It astonishes me how the identity still clings.

The management understand and show sincerity in their relationship with me. So leaving with grace is vital.

Yes, I could send a sign-off email to all my old colleagues, pointing out the dysfunction they participate in. But they already know. They don't care. Or being told would only add more weight to the pressure they feel. Also, do I owe them a warning?

Nothing was offered to me over 10 years, of reflective practice, of 1-2-1s, of "connective conversations". I spent my time saying what I saw out loud, but all I got in return was a sincere shrug and platitudes that kept me chained to validation.

The truth of what I see is not an ingredient to my connection with society. It is a connection to my heart, where discernment of expression is primary. It's not my expression, it's choosing who listens.
