How the ethical debate around your chosen essay topic has evolved today, both in the western world and the whole world?
In the essay Homosexualtity Is Not Immoral By Pete Singer, I think Sibger used a bunch of different and great ideas to portray his opinions on homosexuality and how homosexuals are not immoral. He uses a question which I think he has used very well. “ Does the fact that homosexual acts cannot lead to reprduction make them immoral?” I think this is used extremly well used because it make me think that homosexuals are just humans. I don’t think humans are supposed to judged for loving who they want. “It is that the law is bases on the mistaken view that homosexulaity is immoral. “ I also think that sentence is fantasic because it gives a clear statement on what Peter Singer thinks about this topic. I find this a very unique way of ending this essay because it is extremely powerful. These words, in my opinion, are more important than pictures.
Since this essay written by Pete Singer called Homosexuality is not Immoral, there have been changes in the Indian legal system in India. Like the law that states that sex between two men remains to be a crime punishable by imprisonment of life has changed on Spetemnter 6,2018. Same-sex relationships have been legalized however same-sex marriages are still illegal in India. (“LGBT Rights in India | Equaldex”) There is no law that discrimates in India becuase the constitution forbids discrimation, but this only applies to the government and the agents that work for the government. However, the private sectors are free to discriminate in fields like employment, housing, and education among other sectors in India. (Filip)The LGBT movement in India is quite old but has unfortunately not got either the traction that it needed nor has it been able to become a cohesive and comprehensive movement. In the world of Bollywood, LGBTQUIA+ themed movies have been released to mass audiences and have been met with acceptance. But that is still a small fraction of the media. Television, which has a very great reach in India, is largely indifferent to the issues faced by the queer community. This is a problem that has been plaguing the queer movement in India for quite some time.
