Let's check in on the goings on at The New Leaf Journal and related projects...

The New Leaf Journal

I posted my third article on hair color in the ongoing A Sign of Affection anime adaptation.

This article covered some interesting hair color notes (interesting if you are a fellow anime hair color anthropologist) from episode 7. It follows my studies of Yuki Itose's hair color in episode 2 and Itsuomi Nagi's hair color in episode 5. See those two articles below:

The first two hair color articles have been dominating our most-viewed articles as of late. I am heartened to see my anime hair color project gaining traction. See the full collection...

The Emu Café Social

The Emu Café Social saw one new post today.

Microsoft Publisher is being discontinued. I used Publisher way back in the day when I was senior editor of my high school newspaper to design the newspaper template and format. Seeing it mentioned again felt nostalgic. Of course, it also occurred to me that I thought Microsoft had killed off Publisher a while ago.

Socials

I shared one of my very early New Leaf Journal articles on Mastodon where I featured an original haiku written on my Ti-89 Titanium graphing calculator.

I used Ti Connect on Windows for that post. I have not touched Windows since August 2020, so that too was somewhat nostalgic.

Around the Web

A local Brooklyn restaurant was temporarily shut down by health inspectors.

Its list of violations is genuinely awe-inspiring. I may have an article on this in the near future because I have a pet theory about dining sheds that I have not yet featured on The New Leaf Journal.
