New New Leaf Journal Articles

I published two new New Leaf Journal articles today.

An article about a scam game on the LG TV store led me to suggest not buying any games from a "smart" TV store. Even the non-scam games are probably bad.

After writing five articles about hair color in A Sign of Affection, I wrote a full review of the season now that it finished on March 23. The good thing about writing all those hair color articles was that I already had a good library of images to use in the review. But I nevertheless took four or five (I think four) additional screen captures in addition to reusing some from previous articles. On the whole, I liked A Sign of Affection and it is a strong early year-end top-six candidate.

This Day in New Leaf History

Back on March 28, 2021, I published a list of resources for discovering alternatives to big tech.

I took the opportunity to go through my article and clean up a few dead links while adding necessary notes. My list still holds up fairly well and I remain a regular AlternativeTo user. I would probably write this kind of article differently today, but it remains a decent resource. In my update note, I added a link to my December 2023 list of "default apps":
