- [8] for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9, [10] and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord.
(E) Explain
- Before you believed and were save by Jesus, you were in darkness, BUT now you are in the LIGHT. Therefore, walk in the light because you are a new creation, a new child, a new inheritance, a new purpose. Walk in the things that are good and right and true, ignore the world. Be careful in this and in your ‘walking’, keeping in mind to seek after the things that would please the Lord … things that are good, and right, at true.
(A) Apply
- Press in and rely on and get a grip on who’s I am. Therefore, seek to please the Lord by focusing on all that is good, right, and true. Don’t let the world creep in. Always on guard, but always desiring God and serving Jesus in all that I do.
(R) Respond
- Lord, may I strive to please you. May I focus on all that is GOOD and RIGHT and TRUE. Holy Spirit, guide me and help me discern against the world and what my flesh would desire. May I desire you, Jesus. Amen!
