H.E.A.R Replicate Journal Entry - Hebrews 3

H.E.A.R. Journal Entry

Date: 11/03/2025

Passage: Hebrews 3

(H) Highlight

  • Hebrews 3:14–15 - [14] For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end. [15] As it is said,
  • “Today, if you hear his voice,
  • do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”

(E) Explain

  • The author of Hebrews is encouraging the reader to HOLD FIRM to our original confidence in Christ.  Hebrews 2:1 says, "Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it." Here is the use of a command and warning strategy, God's way, in His purposeful sovereignty, to keep the believer on track, engaged, and in pursuit of Christ. Hebrews 3:12 says, "Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God.

(A) Apply

  • Remember to stay engaged in God's Word. Keep reading, keep listening to sermons, keep worshiping, keep praying, keep confessing, keep laying down, keep putting off and putting on, keep in community ... watch out for non-Biblical philosophies and unbelief and world views able to creep in. Stay on guard. "TAKE CARE, BROTHERS."
  • Holding fast and taking care, etc. requires an active engaged heart.

(R) Respond

  • Spirit empower me to hold on and continue seeking Your ways and not min or the worlds.  Amen.
