2 Timothy 1:14 - By the Holy Spirit who dwells within us, guard the good deposit entrusted to you.

(E) Explain

Paul is command/warning Timothy to guard well all that he has been taught by Paul ... but, this guarding is by the power of the Holy Spirit dwelling WITHIN Timothy.

(A) Apply

I would do well to guard and protect the faith and knowledge and disciplining I have received now for almost 60 years. I should not even try to do this in my own strength, but by the power of the Holy Spirit living in me. This is by His power and His strength and His grace and not ultimately by my efforts. I must rely, allow, and submit the 'counselor', the 'helper' to prompt, convict, and guide me in keeping watch over my faith.

(R) Respond

O Holy Spirit dwelling in me, I submit to your will, your ways. Help me, please, to guard and stay close to the Truth. May I remain faithful to Biblical teaching and the great deposit of those into my life to this day. Amen.
