4-5kg poot
2-3kg pens
250 ml water x3
1T salt
1t chilli powder

Large Pressure Cooker
Instant Pot

Evening
Wash poot, place into pressure cooker
Place onto stove
Add 2 cups water
Seal and max heat
Wash pens, place into instant pot
Add 1 cup water
Switch OFF "keep warm" setting!
Pressure cook for 1 min,
Let cool naturally (overnight?)
Wait for poot pressure to build
When poot pressure cooker pops,
drop temperature
pressure cook for 45 min

switch off heat
Let cool naturally (overnight?)

Morning?, Later?
Remove pens from instant pot
Slice pens into strips
Add pens back in
Remove big bones from poot
Slice poot also
Move poot meat to instant pot
Add spices
Add pens
Add salt
No more water
Slow cook 10 hours
Switch ON "keep warm" setting

Evening
Stir, Enjoy

Alternative for Potjie

Add 2kg beef blocks

Potjie and fire

[[Do ABOVE and alter from]]...
...pressure cook for 45 min
Start fire, heat briquettes
after 45 min switch off heat
Place pot in water, speed cooling
Remove pens, keep liquid aside
place beef in instant pot
Add 1 cup water
Switch OFF "keep warm" setting!
Pressure cook for 1 min
Slice pens into strips
Remove poot, keep liquid
Cool poot more with tap water
Remove big bones from poot
Slice poot also
Move poot meat to potjie
Add liquid of poot and pens
bring to boil open top
Add pens
Add spices
Add salt
Keep cooking
Wait for beef
use natural pressure release
Add beef, stir
No more water
Keep cooking
