Walk Today Where Jesus Walked

Walk today where Jesus Walked

by Jim Brookins Sept. 19th, 2024

Perhaps you've heard of "the patience of Job." The Spurgeon Sermon Series posted a beautiful sermon by Pastor Charles Spurgeon titled "The Pearl of Patience!" I recommend searching for it on YouTube.

But I've never heard a sermon like this one on the subject. Spurgeon in his masterful way of preaching. expounds on the importance of learning patience.

James 5:11 As you know, we count those who have persevered as blessed. You have heard of Job's perseverance and have seen what the LORD finally brought about. The LORD is full of compassion and mercy.

Here are just a few quotes from C.H.Surgeon that I took from this sermon. But these are not the main points.

"What do I know of patients when I compare myself to Job?"

"Whatever Satan's purpose might have been in tempting Job, God had a purpose to overrule that of the destroyer."

"God was doing good to his faithful servant and even rewarding his righteousness when he counted him worthy to be tested."

*Job was upright and faithful towards God.

**God purposefully allowed this to show strength is found in our weaknesses.

***We become useful in helping others overcome similar situations.

Job was upright and faithful towards God when God allowed Satan to tempt Job. God purposefully allowed this to show strength is found in our weaknesses and that through weakness we become useful in helping others overcome similar situations.

Jesus suffered trials and temptation, and he is the Son of God. He can comfort us because he was comforted by God the Father.

We must walk through trials and trust God if we are to help others to do the same. Are we walking today where Jesus walked, and do we feel his presence there?

The patience of Job.
