uniting

Attachments and aversions must be united into One. Mental preferences for this or that must be transcended if one is to remain attuned to the underlying permeating reality of boundless unity. If something seems ugly or nasty or otherwise unpleasant to the mind/senses, it must be embraced as readily as something beautiful or tasty or otherwise pleasing. The constant distinguishing between this and that generates unnecessary unease and distress to the body/mind, and it truly is arbitrary - built upon the conditioning of fleeting past experiences and passed-down judgments.

In truth it's all One, right down to life and death. Both sides of every polarity operate within a singular process of perpetual exchange and transition. The two sides of the yin/yang endlessly swirling into the other to form a single Circle.

If the conditioned dualities can't be transcended and reconciled, half of reality is rejected and recoiled from whenever it inevitably appears. If all can be viewed as it is regardless of how it appears, as an expression of One Process, equanimity is unshaken and consciousness remains unclouded from the laundry lists of accumulated attachments and aversions, desires and fears, pleasures and pains. Life and death can be moved into and received completely, rather than fractured and in constant conflict with the arbitrary preferences of a conditioned mind.
