Raw Wilderness
Going out in the cold, risking to get some rain along the way.
You get prepared to face almost any kind of situation: windbreaking jacket, water resistant gear, some snacks, water, etc.
You're not going out for a real hike, camping, or longer activity in the wilderness itself. You're just preparing for something lighter. You add some minimum gear, and expose yourself to the outside world. That can give you some taste, or at least a scent of the real thing. It's something.
This proposal is a bit different than going to malls, concerts, parks or other urban scenarios where you would go in normal circumstances. It is still close to the city, but also in a sligthly more wild place, where less people go, less public transportation is available, not so many stores are nearby.
You find a spot to sit and interact with the nature around you, feel the silence, perceive smells, sounds and everything else that an environment not so touched by humans has to offer.
It's an intesting experience.
Even if you do not have such place around you, it is still possible to give yourself some experience of the raw nature, the wilderness.
Try going out on a cold rainy day. Try to find some shelter that is not inside a shop or store. I experienced that and it put me quite close to this sense of wilderness, where you have to find a spot good enough to serve you as shelter, where you can take a few minutes and rest.
That was really stimulating, I got quite excited about living again. I was feeling down, demotivated, tired, purposeless... and those moments really brought me back to some good mood.
