Breaking the resolution, but maintaining another

I had a busy day today and found myself not having the chance to have 5 minutes of doing nothing. They say I should not break the resolution twice in a row, otherwise, a habit cannot be sustained. Tomorrow, I will come back to the resolution and write about it.

I spent about an hour practicing the piano. I recently learned how to play, to finally read sheet music, and then map the preceding knowledge to the piano. I started with Oscar Peterson's jazz piano book. I did not learn basics and I did not jump right into familiar songs. I think this worked out for me quite well. I did not have a deadline to learn the piano, so I am learning in the pace I want. I am also not pressured into getting things right fast, which I think is a good thing. Today, I was slowly building the first parts of Gymnopedie no. 1. It is quite gratifying, but I have to practice further and then return to the exercises in the jazz piano book.
