Today's variation of doing nothing for five minutes: I am sitting on the bed playing the finale of Law and Order: Criminal Intent. I did not do anything, but the episode playing in the background drew me to the dialogue.

Apparently, interactive porn could be marketed as virtual eroticism. When you asked someone to dance and they decline your invitation, say "your loss".

The episode featured James van der Beek. You may know him from Dawson's Creek. Here he seems to be playing a bad guy, and I think he was in his "play a lovable douche" phase. He had this series called Don't Trust the Bitch in Apartment 23, where he plays a fictionalized version of himself.

The actor playing the computer expert at the police station is actually one of the supporting actors in last year's show Somebody Somewhere. The actor is thinner now than before.

But this episode's deeper lesson is about boxing ourselves into the roles we play. Should we play roles to live our life? What if the roles take a life of their own? Your life? Can you take back your life from the role?
