10 days to election
October 24, 2020•564 words
We are living in history.
In ten days, history will be made, and perhaps not for the better. We must choose between a philosophy that believes America is inherently decent and good, or one that believes America is irreversibly racist, sexist, capitalist, white supremacist, and cannot be redeemed. Will you vote for a President who wants to move forward, or for a candidate who wants to instill fear? Will you volunteer to win this election? How do you want to be remembered in history?
At this point in the election, here are the voted tallys from Chatham County through Oct 23.
- Percentage of registered voters who have voted: 56%
- Percentage of Registered Democracts: 62%
- Percentage of Registered Republicans: 45%
- Percentage of Registered Unaffiliated: 50%
We need to raise that percentage of Republicans, and that is up to you, your family, and your friends. Here is the list of the Republicans who have voted so far. Are you on the list? In a few days I'll start publishing lists of Republicans who have not yet voted.
Jimmy Pharr endorsement
One of the Democrat candidates running for County Commissioner in March this year was Ms. Katelin Hancock. She was defeated by the incumbent Democrat commissioner. Now, Ms. Hancock has endorsed our Republican candidate Jimmy Pharr for comissioner.
"...I feel the actions and message of the current candidates do not represent the best future I would like to see for our county so I have chosen to offer my endorsement for Republican candidate JIMMY PHARR in District 2…This election will be a pivotal moment in deciding which direction our county takes during these unprecedented and uncertain times. Blind allegiance to party lines has done nothing but divide our constituents and perpetuate tensions between both sides... /s/ Katelin Hancock
Go Vote!
Please vote early. This election is too important to wait until the last minute.
Here is a list of polling places and times. During early voting you can vote at any of the polling places.
Need a sample ballot for the polls? Here is the 4th Congressional district (east part of Chatham) and here is the 13th Congressional district (western part of Chatham). They are the same except for the one Congressional race.
Election Day Voting
On Election Day (Tuesday November 3) you MUST vote at your precinct polling place. THIS YEAR YOUR LOCATION MAY HAVE CHANGED.
Go here for a list of polling places, or go here and type your address in the search box for your polling place. Check your information, and check for your friends and relatives who might not know about the changes.

From one of our nation's founding fathers:
These are the times that try men’s souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their county; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman.
