Playing with Fire | We 12/7

I had a minor ankle roll yesterday and Eric told me to elevate my ankle, so I slept on my couch to put my legs on the armrest. The position wasn't especially uncomfortable, and I've already proven that the couch isn't hard to sleep on, but my feet and knees feel kind of swollen after waking up. It's like I just finished a day of volleyball, which is strange to feel in the morning while I'm not sweaty.
I pulled the usual "try to nap for a reasonable time but go way over" today, but this time I woke up to a few pings from Yumei just before I had a meeting. She asked me about it before we started and I had to choke out an excuse, but the worst part was realizing I was "wearing the nap" while talking. My voice and eyes seemed like they hadn't been used for a while, and I'm sure it was more obvious to them if I could tell.
Thankfully I didn't get any further questions or trouble, but I'm in edge now. I should probably take shorter and more frequent naps to be ready in case I get a ping, but the software engineer in me is thinking of ways to hook up an alarm to a notification.
Other than that the day was pretty uneventful. I just watched volleyball videos, did a few errands, made dinner, then for volleyball. No one else from Dallas went, so I drove myself and it was relaxing, which contrasted the busy gym well. The parking lot was overflowing and I had to go to the back where a cop was parked, possibly looking for suspicious activity but maybe slacking off from work like me.
Of course given the parking lot the gym was packed, but the group we had was big too, 24 people for one court. It was nice seeing so many familiar faces and even a handful of friends who people brought. We split into teams and played several games before another court opened up. It was great not having any more downtime, and thankfully we didn't get asked to pay for it, but I doubt it would've mattered much since we paid $2.40 in the end.
The games were good, but I caught myself giving some bad passes and serve receives. I feel like it was mostly social playing since it was a lot less organized and with varying skill levels compared to yesterday, but I still had a great time. It's like playing casual matches or community servers in games.
Afterwards some people wanted to get Cane's, but near UTD. I felt the battle inside of me waging as I realized that I need to sleep and it's a longer drive. Thankfully I got some time to chat with Sherry and Albert about DIVA and their experiences. Surprisingly they said people want to play right side even less than middle, so I may go for that. As fun as blocking is, I feel like playing middle for a while would make me more lopsided than I already am.
