The Struggle | We 1/25

I watched a few spooky Jacob Geller videos before sleeping last night (about brain transplants and autopsies) so I was a bit on-edge while trying to knock out. I woke up naturally early in the morning and drank some water, but it was hard to fall back asleep again too. That time it felt like the dry air was the cause instead of being scared. Also while falling asleep I realized that after getting "good enough" sleep (~7 hours), I shouldn't worry about napping since that makes for a net negative in productivity.
Later during stand-up a few people talked about how the roads are slippery because of the rain and cold, which discouraged me from going into the office, but I figured I should still do it for the attendance. Sumitha also said that apparently we'll need to come into office 3 times weekly or be reported, which was sad news indeed.
It felt weird going into the office at noon after having an early lunch at home, but I got it done. I didn't even have meetings, but tried to stay busy for a few hours. At that point I checked the traffic and saw an accident, which proved bad juju for the commute so I packed my things to leave early. Even though I didn't take any meetings, Gonzalo saw me leaving and I couldn't help but feel embarassed, but I guess it's all in the name of attendance.
The drive home wasn't bad thankfully, but I found it so hard to stay focused and not snack or laze around when back home. I got myself to use the pomodoro timer, but eventually touched the couch and the rest is history. I napped from around 4-5, which isn't so bad, but afterwards I kept procrastinating and reading manga.
Now it's too late to work out, but I managed to eat at least. Mom also warned me that it's snowing around her, so I figured I'd play it safe and not go into the office tomorrow. She's also been phoning it in with her cooking lately and I don't miss it even if it is already made and free.
During I also got to messaging people about EDC so it seems like a hotel group can actually happen.
Also I realized that my hair is about as long as Atsumu Miya's so maybe I'll try to style it like his tomorrow. I guess I'll need to wait until my hair's sides and back are long enough to grow in roots again, but it's fun paying attention to his and other characters' hair now.
I didn't do much today, even for work, but I'm not giving up -- carpe diem.
Typing that last bit gave me second wind and I decided to spend a while publish the backlog of journals I built up around the new year. Hopefully it isn't too confusing with the dates being out of order, but these are getting king of long. If you're reading this though, much respect. I hope my life is interesting.
