Transformed | We 12/28

I woke up after very little sleep to a stand-up meeting with only Joe.

  • Just napped and hung out the whole day intending to be productive, but just napping and hanging out the whole day
  • Still pondered the himbo realization and a video about the term separately defined friends as just people who support each other, which was a helpful definition.
  • I picked up my LAN ticket from Brenda, which was a bit chaotic but exciting. The hotel we met at emphasized using photo enforcement for parking, which had me mad even though I ignored paying since I was only there for a minute.

Eventually busted my ass to wash my hair and shave before I had to meet for dinner and dyeing hair.

  • Was late for dinner but it was still fun. Albert brought a friend Sharan who I said something important to do things were a little rocky at first.
  • We went to Min's house after dinner, started baking the olive oil cake, and got to bleaching our hair.
  • Min went first since the process seemed simpler for her shorter hair, but the bleach was uneven since it was going rougher and slower than expected, and everyone was concerned.
  • I opted to try combing the bleach through my hair like Joseph does in a video, but I had so much hair and the solution was so think that it didn't work well and my bleaching was similarly uneven.
  • Both of us had some crisis foils to try to fix the uneven patches, but a few of mine ended up overdone and too pale. We washed the bleach out anyways since my scalp was irritated and pink by then though.
  • The final bleached hair wasn't bad for either of us, but even before that happy surprise we were hoping the brown would hide the patchiness.

Min went first for the dye too and we joked that it'd be good if we somehow looked like our hair was the same as before.

  • The cake came out well despite a similar amount of chaos in making it. By then I had great hopes for the dyed hair.
  • Both Min's and my hair came out paler than the cool brown from the box, but everyone liked the color and it was pretty even.
  • The topic then switched to haircutting and Emily wanted her bangs to be redone. We used a picture for reference, but were uneasy about it.
  • I left for the restroom and everyone told me that my haircut will be first when I returned.

Emily, Sherry, and Sharan oversaw the tidying of my sides and the cleaning of the back of my hair.

  • They removed the "rectangle" in the center back that I left from my DIY haircut and didn't like the "table" made from the hard disconnect at the back.
  • They spent a while consulting and cutting slowly to soften the edge of the table, maybe as long as the hair dyeing.
  • There were a lot of funny moments being scared, but the haircut looked better than before.
  • We ended around 2:30 and most of the others were asleep. Emily chatted for a bit, but had to go home for what she eventually admitted was necessary alone time.

We talked about the need for alone time, which was interesting. I also shared about my trauma hearing "table" like "carpet neck" for a woman whose haircutting video I saw.

  • I also shared about the himbo revelation to the twins and Min when they said that the brown hair makes me look even softer, but they didn't know about the term.
  • During the night Sherry commented that she likes Sharan's personality, which got me jealous. I feel silly for feeling it, but it's true.
