Ball Day | Su 2/26

I woke up early and couldn't fall back asleep, but it was nice "chilling in my head" until I had to get ready to leave for volleyball. I packed a lot in case we couldn't eat lunch in between playing from 10 - 3, which made me feel like I was traveling, and the drive wasn't bad at all. In fact, I put on my pump up playlist and was in a great mood by the time I arrived even though I was lost for a bit.
The drill portion of the day was great. DJ walked Sherry and I through back row defense (home bases, shifting for each hitter, covering each others' area if they move, calling hitters), serving and serve receive (calling seam, covering shanked passes), blocking and covering tips, and digging deep cross.
Later more people came to play and the games were a lot of fun. There seemed to be a good mix of skill levels, but everyone was kind and positive. They were basically all in DIVA too, so it was nice to put some names to faces and get familiar.
I had some good and bad moments (crazy line shot, losing my shoe) and we played for a long time, but they record everything so it'll be fun to see it all. Later DJ even pulled me aside to invite me to play in a NAGVA tournament in Houston over Good Friday, which was a huge surprise even if they just need a middle.
Some of the guys in the group wanted to eat together afterwards, but I realized I could go to mom's house to shower and reapply sunscreen, so I did that before joining them. It was nice chatting more with some of the group, but I wasn't especially talkative then and felt a bit overwhelmed by joining an already established group with a different dynamic. I was surprised to see them talk about cars and kpop, but they went off for a while about both.
At that point we split, but despite the fact that I was so close to work and mom's house, I realized I should pack more clothes and bring my work computer over so I drove back home in thankfully okay traffic. At home I did laundry and cleaned, but not before napping for a while (I was tired after 5 hours of volleyball). While at home I decided to vacuum and wipe down my car interior, which may not have been smart to do at midnight.
Now I'm at mom's house quite late, but my first meeting is also late so I'm not too worried. I also asked Sara about playing games again, her church volleyball tomorrow, and if I should do the tournament and she said yes to them all. It's sad to be separated from my computer when I keep watching Borderlands 3 content, but I suppose there's still a lot to do. Alex also wants to pass around on Tuesday so hopefully we can get plenty of reps in.
