The younger shall succeed the older

There seems to be a consistent theme of male siblings where the older one(s) will fail to honor God in some way, grow to hate his younger brother, and often times become fathers to people groups of sinful/pagan ways, while the younger brother manages to succeed where the older brother(s) failed and often times rule over his older brother(s).

Examples include:

Seth/Able and Cain
Issac and Ishmael
Jacob and Esau
Joseph and his brothers
David and his brothers
Solomon and Adonijah

This theme seems to climax with Jesus, who Paul compares to Adam and describes him as succeeding where Adam failed. Adam gave birth to sinful humanity and Jesus' death offered the second birth of Christianity.

Seeing as the Bible says we are to become as sons of God and rule over the angels (1st Corinthians 6:3), is it possible that humans are the younger brother to the angels (in a way) and we are to succeed where the angels failed?
