alabaster everything

i had a blog in my early 20s
it started out as a group blog
it whittled down to a single-writer blog
and then one day
i replaced the entire blog with large black text on a white background—the text said
alabaster everything
and thats it
everything in the world (everyone) was alabaster
it was translucent (see-through-able)
everything was learnable
there was a corner at the edge of every thing i encountered—that could be peeled back
the thing could be uncovered
revealed
everything could be known
i was overwhelmed with this feeling
so i re-introduce the phrase here
everything is alabaster—alabaster everything
everything in my world today is thin thin sheets of alabaster (barely laid over the truth)
everything bends over backwards to reveal itself to me
and i crawl through it
pressing lightly here and there
adjusting my world
surgically and slightly—messily and noisily
doing my job with the rough truths that form our terrain
and the thin sheets of alabaster which cover them
