Hello, everyone. There are some resolutions that I have carried over from last year to this year, mainly because I didn't manage to achieve those goals. I was on the way to achieving them, but I just didn't reach 100% completion. So I'm bringing some of them into this year. Additionally, there are some goals that I managed to achieve last year, and I want to continue pursuing them this year, albeit with some improvements.
So, last year I had 13 goals, and this year I have 21. You might think it's excessive, but some of these are secondary goals. I would categorize some as primary goals that I want to achieve, while others are secondary. This approach has been consistent for me over the past few years—I set secondary goals as reminders or standards against which I can measure my progress.
I'll focus on the main goals for this year, perhaps three or four in total. The first one is to embark on my Quranic journey by fully committing to memorization and furthering my understanding of the Quran. This was one of my goals last year, and I managed about 20 hours of study, but this year, I aim for more frequent engagement.
The second goal is maintaining regular contact with people. While I achieved this last year, I want to add a twist by partnering with someone for each goal, allowing us to track each other's progress. Although I've matched a couple of goals with partners, I'm still in the process of assigning partners for the rest. I aim to maintain contact with at least five different people regularly, perhaps once every two weeks or weekly if possible.
The third goal pertains to my health. My primary objective is to reduce my dependency on sugar, which I've realized has become an addiction. Additionally, I have a personal goal of reading a book a month, something I've failed to achieve consistently. There are various reasons for this, such as not dedicating enough time to reading or reading multiple books simultaneously, which slows down progress. However, I'm flexible with this goal and aim to read at least 12 books per year, even if not one book per month.
Lastly, I aim to resume traveling, focusing initially on local destinations due to budget constraints. In the future, I hope to travel abroad and meet some of my conversation partners. For now, visiting local museums or going on guided tours would suffice to fulfill my travel goals.
In conclusion, these are my resolutions for 2024. I'll prioritize the main goals while working on perfecting the secondary ones, which mostly involve continuing current practices. Thank you for listening, and I'd love to hear about your resolutions as well. Let's talk again soon. Bye!
