241220 - Evil befalls you due to yourself

Al'hakim
☝ The wise,
- the possessor of knowledge, and the "meta" wisdom
- the source of wisdom ⊃
[4:78]
Wherever you may be,
death will find you
- even if you are in fortified towers.
If any good befalls them,
they say:
"This is from God,"
and
If any evil befalls them,
they say:
"This is from you!"
Say
"All is from God;"
What is wrong with these people? They barely understand any narrative!
This ayat above shows that all is from God, the good, bad and ugly.
Yet,
[4:79]
Any good that befalls you
- is due to God,
and
any evil that befalls you
- is due to yourself.
We have sent you as a messenger to the people and God is enough as a witness.
Similarly,
[42:30]
And any misfortune that happens to you
- is a consequence of what your hands have earned.
And He overlooks much.
God is good. Ayat [4:79]
is a citation to that effect. And certainly, error is not possible for God.
It's a little too dilute to say "cause" and "effect", however most folks seem to be caught up in that paradigm aren't incorrect. Certainly, if anything happens it could only have occurred due to God, in the sense that, no other entity could make existence happen.
However, here God is giving us a word of caution. That evil is not in the nature of God, and therefore evil that befalls one is "from Him" but not due to Him. Because God is literally saying, in English, the credit for evil is you, not Him, right?
In other words, the evil is credited to the creation, not the creator.
One obvious hypothesis is that there must be a sequence of events. If the entire spectrum of one's timeline is taken, it ought to show that God has provided enough runway for individuals to correct their courses, before ultimate destruction or ultimate bliss results.
Stated differently,
there is a temporal sequence of God's applied mercies, such that we are responsible
God's permission is basically "divine intervention" for any consequent that follows an antecedent.
Guidance when received, is authenticated by God, as well as those appointed to keep record
The sequence
precursor of mercy initiated
guidance (from maker) dispatched
guidance received && authenticated (by God, receiving entity, and assigned soul scribe)
Then, Either OR
- spurn said received guidance
Example,
[53:23] These are but names that you made up, you and your forefathers. God never authorized such. They only follow conjecture, and personal desire, while the guidance has come to them from their Lord.
waver (guidance received however, uncommitted to said received guidance, cognitive dissonance, lack of follow through, and related vernacular, "being accountable for oaths that have entered your hearts" kinds of outcomes)
IDEAL OUTCOME - guidance received, authenticated by soul scribe as received, then recipient "accepting" or... Variants: following closely, holding the trust, activated and willing "compliance" with received guidance, participation, submission, belief, heeding, etc.
Evil therefore is attributable to "bad actor"
(aka, authenticated as one who received guidance, and opted for misguidance essentially)
[32:13]
And
if We had wished,
- We could have given every soul its guidance,
And,
the sentence from Me has taken effect
- that I will fill Hell with the jinn and ins all together.
When does God withhold guidance?
Surah 50 of the Quran gives me, us, a clue.
Listen, comprehend and apply is the typical sequence.
[50:4] We know which of them has become consumed with the earth; and We have with Us a record which keeps track.
[50:5] But they denied the truth when it came to them, so they are in a confused state.
to continue,
[50:16]
And We have created the human being
and
- We know what his soul whispers to him,
and
We are closer to him than his jugular vein.
[50:17]
When the two receivers meet on the right and on the left.
[50:18]
He does not utter a word except a watcher is constantly with him.
☝️ Thanks to God, and brother Kayvon's efforts in delivering those ayat to me, and several others along the way. Glory to al'jami The Gatherer.
Al'hamdulilah.
