One thing I’ve seen a lot of people do is to post their Amazon wish-list/registry and people can buy them gifts from the list, and I’ve also seen people requesting Apple gift cards, Amazon cash codes, Starbucks GCs, etc.

The donor still only has to do 1 transaction like for a normal donation and then just the 1 extra step of forwarding the digital item/code to you, but I’m pretty sure you can figure something out to streamline the entire process and make it as quick and straightforward as possible

IMO the best way (and most common way I’ve seen online especially for FOSS devs, repo/public contributions, community projects, etc.) is to post BTC/ETH/XMR addresses (preferably all three and maybe BNB/BSC as well since many people have some already).

To maintain privacy, just swap out the posted addresses regularly with new, unused ones, and use Cake wallet or MyMonero like someone else mentioned. If using Cake, make sure to update the app and only use new 24-word seed (do not use any old Cake wallets with the 12-word mnemonic anymore). MyMonero with your own node running on Tor or at least double VPN is obviously more private and secure though. Convert all received currencies to XMR (not all at once and try not to pool together) and wait a couple days before withdrawing your balance in multiple smaller random amounts (never w/d the full balance at once, or even in two tx, would advise at least 4-10 different amounts over several days/weeks/months)
