Following the suggested approach, below are the reasons I decided to join the #100Days challenge.
I like writing in general, and I see a lot of room for improvement in my writing skills. I do write a considerable amount of text at work, but specially since the pandemics began, the amount of writing has increased significantly, thanks to the home office setting.
I also found (quite) recently that I'm paying more attention to the details of what I write at work. I'm becoming more careful when expressing the ideas I want to communicate. I want them to be clear and concise, and also simple, short and effective.
I try to be as clear as I can. I use mostly simple terms and easy language. Most of my colleagues are international people, and only a few are native english speakers.
By focusing on means to improve communication in written form, I've found out that my interest in writing has increased. I started noticing that I appreciate the little moments spent choosing the appropriate words, reading what I just wrote, checking that against what I was thinking, rephrasing, summarizing and so on.
Writing is a very nice exercise in many forms. The need to adapt your thoughts to limits offered by a language are quite challenging, and practicing it is, to the least, a very good exercise to your brain.
Another source of love for writing came slowly, and split over different times of my life. Most of these moments were somehow related to journaling and story telling. I always felt attracted to the topic, but never have started it for good. I have recently rediscovered the joy of journaling and how good, helpful and healthy it can be, when properly applied to the self-observation, and life problems solving. Journaling about the problems you face in your life work as good as a good therapy session, with the difference that it can last longer than that.
It looks to me that today a new phase has begun. Maybe writing has an important role to play in it.
Let's see :)
