Self Respect
Ok, this one is still a learning subject. I understand what it means, but I'm currently learning how to apply it in difficult situations, e. g. when you like someone.
When you're in that state, it's usually very easy to allow some unwanted things to slip in. It's a trade we make in order to achieve some sort of "greater good". And we're usually convinced that it's worthy to do so - at least for that person - because we like them.
I've noticed that these unwanted elements do harm us inside, sometimes more than we can understand, perceive or wish for.
This is where self-respect comes into play. We have to build up energy so we do not allow these unwanted things to slip in. We need to be able to draw lines and demand respect. We must do this for our own sake.
Of course this is easily said than done, and I believe that we improve our learnings onto that over time. Each person probably learns that through different attempts. To me it took some good repetitions, so I could manage to understand it well.
I think that my current perception should be enough to prevent me from making that same mistake again. But we never know for sure, life always has its funny ways to prove us wrong.
