Beating the Overthinking habit
Overthinking was never practical. But it also didn't have a name until modern times. Ok, I didn't do any exhaustive research, I'm assuming that based on current readings from what an average human (like me) is exposed to, while surfing the web.
Considering the worker mindset discussed earlier, we can use the behaviour of always looking for improvement and never establishing metrics to measure achievements. This is a good example of what overthinking is: one does not establish an end goal that would enable s/he to stop working so hard for a while - and allow yourself to take some good rest, celebrate, or do something in order to enjoy yourself - just because you can consider a task done.
There's always more to improve, there's always a new level to be achieved. This is always true, but it is also true that splitting the long run into smaller chunks make it a lot easiet to look back into previous interactions.
So, smaller chunks acknowledgement would be an answer to help ease the burden of the worker mindset.
The idea behind beating the overthinking habit would be quite obvious to most people. Maybe it was always hard to me because I'm might not be getting it properly.
It is important to think a bit in order to get the big picture. It is also important not to think too much, because it starts preventing you from acting. It is also more about feeling than thinking everything through, specially when it comes to your own life, goals and things that make you happy.
By overthinking one can just create or increase distance between one's heart and mind.
