November Election Questions
I've received several questions about the November 2021 municipal elections. The Chatham GOP is not supporting or sponsoring any particular candidate for those elections, as the Pittsboro and Goldston mayor and council races are technically non-partisan, and only residents of Pittsboro, Goldston, and the Goldston-Gulf Sanitary District are eligible to vote in November. The Siler City town races have been postponed until Spring 2022. If you are eligible to vote this fall - do your research and GO VOTE!
And, if you feel the pull to become a candidate in 2022, please let me know.
Pittsboro Street Fair - we have a booth!
The Pittsboro Street Fair is this coming Saturday, October 30 from 10am to 4pm in downtown Pittsboro. Our GOP booth will be on the south side of Hanks street at the eastern end. Congressman Ted Budd plans to meet-n-greet at our booth from 10am to 11am to stop by and introduce yourself. The Street Fair is always a fun event, and we hope you visit us this year.
Redistricting
The really rough draft redistricting maps are being unofficially circulated and the Left is already hopping mad. Part of the Left is upset and claim the maps take into account political or racial groups, and the other part of the Left is upset and claim the maps don't take into account political or racial groups. Funny how the Left likes redistricting maps only when the Left makes them. The lawsuits are coming.
Reagan Day - almost last call
Our Reagan Day dinner is November 13. We have had really good ticket requests so far, but we will cut off ticket sales on November 4. So, if you plan on going and have put off purchasing a ticket, go here in the next few days or you will miss a great evening.
Inflation
When I bought gas in Siler City on Saturday it was 20 cents more per gallon than just two weeks ago. We're seeing inflation now and we will see a lot more to come. Everyone should be concerned about runaway inflation and shortages of goods on store shelves. Y'all be careful out there.
When a business or an individual spends more than it makes, it goes bankrupt. When government does it, it sends you the bill. And when government does it for 40 years, the bill comes in two ways: higher taxes and inflation. Make no mistake about it, inflation is a tax and not by accident.
