Candidate registration begins Monday

Anyone wishing to run as a candidate in the 2022 elections must register between noon December 6 and noon December 17. We still need candidates! This coming year will be especially interesting as two of the county commissioners (Jim Crawford-D in the 3rd district and Diana Hales-D in the 4th district) are NOT running for re-election. Please email (CCGOP_chair@pm.me) me if you are interested in any of the open positions. Now is the time!

Board of Elections Inputs Needed

Two important items will be on the agenda for the next Chatham County board of elections meeting scheduled for December 21: determining whether there will be Sunday early voting, and a proposal for spending lots of money for a new (and in my opinion, unnecessary) Board of Elections building. The meeting will be online and viewers can express their opinions, but the meeting detaiuls have not been posted to the Board's website. More to follow, but please plan to express your opinions. Voters should email their comments to Board of Elections at pandora.paschal@chathamcountync.gov so the comments are read aloud at the recorded meeting, or to request time during the public input segment to address the Board.

Pastors and Church Leaders

The North Carolina Faith and Freedom Coalition is sponsoring an Interdenominational Pastor Conference on December 15, 2021, at Best Food Cafeteria at 220 E. 11th St. in Siler City, from Noon until 3:00pm. The conference will feature presentations, testimonials and sharing on threats to our religious freedom. The event is free, but conference participants are encouraged to come early to purchase lunch by going through the cafeteria line. The Conference marks the 230th anniversary of the ratification of the Bill Of Rights.
