I fell asleep on the couch with the lights on, but thankfully I got up at a reasonable time after sleeping in. After that I fed myself and made the decision to cut the top of my hair again. I felt confident doing the front and sides (everything in front of the ears), but I didn't have to time to continue before some of the friends were supposed to meet for a Lunar New Year lunch. It was nice getting to chat with them again and catch up, especially since all of us were up to our own devices since New Year's. Hunan Bistro was also fantastic as always and we ate well, but also for a reasonable price.
After getting stuffed for lunch we went across the street for Meet Fresh, which I didn't know existed in Plano and makes me jealous of high schoolers attending the Karen Dillard's nearby now. While relaxing with our desserts we shared our BeReal recaps for 2022, which was a nice reminder of what all happened that year, especially since I still haven't reread or summarized my journals from then.
Because Meet Fresh's bathrooms were out of order we walked to zTao nearby and ended up browsing the aisles where I found a cheap round brush for hair styling and decided to take the plunge. I guess that's the "spoil myself" purchase I made after getting a bonus and raise, but I wouldn't have it any other way. At that point we decided to call it, but walked into Natalie Bakery and had fun browsing the options. I was surprised to see the diversity of desserts they had: galub jamun and jalebi to cannoli to baklava.
Then instead of playing board games together we decided to call it, but not before planning a rock climbing day together a few Tuesday's from now, which is exciting. Back at home I managed to get myself to finish the haircut, work out, and eat a bit. I also let the vacuum run while I was in the gym and it just moved my hair around on the ground rather than picking it up, which was annoying. I guess I should be sure to vacuum my hair myself after a cut, which isn't that hard. It's worth the time and effort though becuase I felt how much easier it became to wash and dry my hair tonight. There's no feeling like it.
I also can't believe I'm saying it, but I also managed to get roped into some more fluffy romance manga and it's pretty fun to read. I guess it's important to realize that the characters and their actions are far from reality since media can give us unrealistic expectations, but I'm happy to enjoy it with that in mind now.
Now it's late, but thankfully I get to work remotely tomorrow and wake up much later than usual. Ben also let me know that he's coming to town in April and to buy a Seven Lion's ticket for then, so I'm excited.
