The Bound Will
Opposing the Free Will, the Bound Will is that which is attached to a somewhat fixed set of ideas. We might think that it defines us as persons, or give us guidance throughout our lives, etc.
Indeed, having such calls can be quite helpful. Feels like we have a North to head to. Makes life choices easier. You filter out the whole spectrum of human existence into a narrow collection of goals.
That is super helpful indeed, and I miss that a lot in my life. But I find myself often not having a clearly defined set of goals. I usually have aspirations to do great things, or have different kinds of fun in different areas of life.
I'm not yet sure how many of them are actually lasting.
So what I try to do is to not lock myself up too much when it comes to setting mid to long term goals.
For sure it is nice and quite important to know what is it that your soul craves for. But that call is not strong in all of us. Some do have it quite clear since the early days of their lives, and some of us live our whole lives without figuring it out clearly enough to set a long term plan.
But here is a suggestion to you: try to relax when it comes to finding your true call. I am taking it super easy on myself nowadays, because I did put a lot of pressure in myself in the past. And that tension and stress just made me feel more anxious, but did not help me accomplish too many meaningful achievements. Of course it helps you get somewhere, but that query for deeper meaning stays with you over the years.
It seems to be there such a contradictory behaviour: on one hand we do query for that static meaning, something eternal, something ever lasting. On the other hand, I'm suggesting you not to bound your will to one specific goal, and allow youself to explore the world.
I don't know what is the Truth, so I have no final answer to share.
But I do agree that it is super interesting to explore these cases :)
I hope you're having fun!
