Mocha Dude

It's nice to look at and looks like a solid mocha from a glance but really when you taste it, it's pretty much a facade. I wouldn't say I disliked it, in fact, I quite enjoyed this. It just fell flat when all the chocolate actually was stuck on the bottom of the mug I got. Coffee alone carries this a lot. It was high quality, strong but not overpowering. Good flavor too - like woody, comfy feeling. That aside, mocha aspects were disappointing but it was still good. Tier: A-, Top of the tier....

This was pretty good at start until I finished it lol. Tier: Low A I think overall it tastes pretty fucking good, despite that the chocolate brings it down, it's a syrup - which I suspect most places do but it was also burnt a tad here. First Washington Mocha It was genuinely good; good balance of coffee to chocolate and it wasn't burned or anything. Nails both but isn't spectacular in either. That doesn't mean it's bad, not at all. Its more hot chocolate than a coffee - like there's a hint of coffee taste but nonexistent while milk/chocolate taste is better if barely. Hell instant coffee (Maxim instant mocha) is better that this. At the very least its not burnt which is has over places like Cafe Ez and Roggenart bakery - both places had either coffee burnt taste or chocolate burnt taste tanking them hard. 5/20/2023 Actually planned my trip for this and also a bit cheaper than most mochas I've had. I can't complain too much about this mocha. It's somehow good but ever-so-slightly lacking in a way that I want more in a good way. The baseline is excellent- good coffee, good chocolate flavor. Tous les Jours is a Korean bakery franchise you can actually find here in America. However, unlike most American places this place's coffee way better than I thought. By all technicality, this isn't a mocha. You're served a latte with a very high quality cube of dark chocolate, where you stick the chocolate in and start mixing. Due to the temperature, the chocolate starts melting and you have some kind of technically a mocha-type coffee. Regardless, I'll rate it. It's pretty much a mocha in the most broadest terms. 0 depth, acidic, and almost sugar water. It's got chocolate sure but it feels like a hot chocolate gone wrong with a splash of coffee to pity it. I went on a trip to Korea some time ago now. And while I may have forgotten most of the fine details, it's still important to write down what I remember of those mochas I've had in Korea. These upcoming notes aren't of anything special but it's nice to have some kind of note (except for the worst mocha and the best mocha, I wrote a tad more for those). It wasn't bad... It was quite strange. First thought was "too sweet" and then I kept drinking. Then I thought "too artificial" but the coffee quality is good. And then I thought "too strange" cause I just didn't know how else to think about this. It falls in the pit of good coffee, but bad/mediocre chocolate integration. I'm not dead. I just haven't travelled much to go and get mochas. But I'll try my best. Now, the review: Good fucking god this is the worst mocha I ever had the pleasure to consume in my life so far. This was smooth. Tasty, too and had all the aspects of a mocha, 'cept the deep chocolate taste I'm chasing. But the chocolate was still good. I unfortunately had to drink it quick so I didn't get to savor it but from what I had and what I can tell, it was S tier worthy.
